Adobe Lightroom 3 Intensive outline:
·      Learn to download images from the camera or card reader, apply metadata templates, labels and review, and then open in Lightroom
·      Learn to view and zoom into images using tools and features of Lightroom workspace.
·      Learn to use the Photo Downloader
·      Understand how keywords and meta data can help speed up and improve your workflow
·      Understand the Histogram
·      Use Camera Raw tools to modify, manipulate, and color correct your images
·      Master Tonal correction including Curves, and the Histogram
·      Understand color corrections, working with color adjustments and Black and White
·      Work with sharpening and noise reduction techniques
·      Work with vignettes to enhance images
·      Use tools to fix dust spots or enhance specific areas of your images
·      Learn best practices for printing your images on an Ink Jet printer or for output to a photo printing facility (Note: we do not do any printing in this class)
·      Learn best practices for web output, including file types, color modes and color profiles, and creating web galleries and portfolios within Lightroom

Get eye to eye with a majestic tiger, check out the inquisitive gorillas and what better time to capture a polar bear at play than in the cold weather.  Time will be spent outdoors capturing those animals enjoying the winter cold then we will head to the tropics of Jungle World and see what the otters, gibbons and tapin are doing.

The air is crisp, the sun stays low and there are great shadows - this is what winter light is all about, add in some snow and the possibilities are endless. During this 3-hour creative workshop exploring winter light you will be wandering the winter beach focusing on available light, patterns, textures and composition.  We will meet at the warm and comfortable Atlantic View Inn just steps from the Atlantic Ocean to discuss the days assignment. Photography Director, Michael S. Miller will wander the beach with you providing input, feedback and inspiration while capturing the winter light.  Finish the day with some hot chocolate beside the fireplace at The Atlantic View Inn while critiquing your images.

Discover the magic of the world’s first national park through your camera lens.  Yellowstone National Park was designated as a national park in 1872 “for the benefit and enjoyment of the people”.  Yellowstone National Park provides inspiration for the people of the world and been inspiring Visions Photographic Workshops photography director Michael S. Miller for over 20 years.
Lose yourself in the world of nature with the deep canyons, stunning geysers, amazing thermal features and abundant wildlife under the guidance of Michael and his experienced team. 
This three-day/4 night photographic workshop will be staying at Yellowstone’s famous Old Faithfull Inn, a national historic landmark and the most requested lodging facility in the park.  This rustic-style lodge, one of the few remaining log hotels in the United Stated is located only steps from the world famous Old Faithful Geyser.      
You will travel the park capturing iconic landmarks that make Yellowstone National Park one of the most visited parks in the world.  Excursions are planned to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs, the West Thumb Geyser Basin and Hayden Valley to “capture” some American Bison!
